Valentine's Festivities

What is Valentine's Day without hearts, candy, and all things red and pink?!

This year, we hosted the Sunshine Playgroup at our neighborhood park for a Valentine's play-date & Keira was invited to Briana's Epic Valentine's Day Party. There is definitely no shortage of celebrations in Keira's world!

After some playtime and snacks, the kids decorated bags to collect their Valentines in.
Then, it was time for the exchange!

After the exchange, it was time to dig in to the loot!

An awesome group of moms and kiddos!

Keira had so much fun looking through her Valentines from all her friends!

On Valentine's Day morning, we continued our tradition of heart-shaped chocolate chip pancakes--YUM!!

Then, after dance class, we went to Briana's for a super fun Valentine's Day Party!

All the girls got sparkly heart wands!

The food and treats were delicious!
Heart-shaped pizza & salad for the moms and grilled cheese & fruit salad for the kids!
Plus, red velvet cupcakes and strawberry lemonade--yum!!

Lunch time!

Craft time!

Mackenzie read a story about The Very Fairy Princess & Valentines and Keira was enthralled!

Cupcakes!  Mmmm....
(Keira was a trooper and took this picture, but she actually did not get to eat a cupcake because she choose instead to eat candy after her dance class/before the party).

Valentine Girls!

Thank you, Briana, for another amazing party!!!!!!!!!!!
Also, thanks to Mackenzie and Laura for these pictures!!

Our Babymoon!

In February, Noah and I had a very special treat and got to go out for our first overnight trip by ourselves since Keira was born! After pondering lots of different options, we settled on a one-night stay at a Bed & Breakfast in Carlsbad. Thankfully, NanaSheila scheduled a long weekend with us due to a school holiday, so she was able to stay with Keira while we got to enjoy some alone time!

After Noah picked up his mom at the airport on Saturday afternoon, we all met back at our place for lunch, then we were off on our adventure!

First stop: Cinepolis! Thanks to a generous gift card, we were able to enjoy the movie "Lincoln" while laying back in our recliners and indulging on yummy snacks--chocolate fondue with fruit, popcorn, and a decaf latte for me!

After the movie, we made our way up to Carlsbad and checked into our B & B. The hostess, Nancy, was so friendly and accommodating. When we arrived, she had just taken a batch of freshly baked banana bread out of the oven--it was SO YUMMY! Also, she upgraded the room we had reserved to a more spacious and fancy room for FREE! We were surprised and so blessed!

The room was super cozy and comfortable!

After getting settled in our room, we walked a couple blocks to a quaint restaurant for dinner (Interestingly enough, it was a restaurant a couple people had recommended when they heard we were taking a trip to Carlsbad; who knew the same restaurant would be within walking distance of our room?!).
We enjoyed some delicious pasta and dessert together!

The next morning, we were treated to a DELICIOUS breakfast prepared by Nancy. It included A French Toast Souffle, fresh fruit, and juice. It was a little cool outside, but we enjoyed our breakfast out on the balcony of the B & B, overlooking the ocean.

After checking out of our room, we spent the morning at the San Diego Botanic Gardens. We had never toured the gardens before and it was a beautiful and relaxing time together.
Noah had fun capturing the scenery with his macro lens!

After stopping for lunch at Chipotle, we made our way to the cliffs in La Jolla.
It was a beautiful day and we had fun reminiscing at this place that is very special to us...

25-week baby belly

Here we are at the same spot on Jan 25, 2003.
This is where Noah proposed!

This time it's Oct 2008 and we had just found out we were pregnant with Keira!

After relaxing at the cliffs, we made our way to the mall at UTC and walked around and did some window shopping.  Then, for dinner we went to a swanky restaurant called Burlap (thanks to another gift card!). After dinner, we made our way back home for the night!

While we were gone, Keira had an AWESOME time with her Nana!

They danced together with the Jana worship DVD!

Playing at the park was super fun!

An owl mosaic craft--so fun!!

Play-doh time!

Time for dinner!
Making homemade pizza-yum!

Nana brought a super fun Disney puzzle for Keira.
This puzzle was challenging, but after working on it little by little, they completed it together before Nana went back home.

Success!!

Big hugs before taking Nana back to the airport!

We had a wonderful time on our "Babymoon" and we're so thankful Keira and Nana enjoyed their time together too! We owe a HUGE and heartfelt thank you to Nana for coming down and taking care of Keira so we could enjoy our time away!
